Lalyla Talor is located near Athena's and Yola's elementary school, it's not like tailor that I used to meet here, there, overhere and overthere.

It has cellular phone number, and can do a laundry and varieties of garment. quite professional tailor.

Bogor Cathedral

So after I jumped out from Angkot and taking photographs then I met my friends from Fotografer.Net . We went to Cathedral, unfortunately I could not enter Cathedral, as security didn't give the permission.So I walk around, just to see the outside of Cathedral, the school there were closed so nothing to be seen.

This is the second time I visited Cathedral Bogor, The First Time was long time ago, and also i took picture from outside. The only Cathedral i took picture from inside is Cathedral in Jakarta.

Gereja Katedral Bogor mempunyai nama paroki resmi Santa Perawan Maria. Beralamat di Jalan Kapten Muslihat Nomor 22, Bogor.

Awalnya merupakan sebuah gereja Paroki Bogor ya

ng termasuk dalam wilayah Prefektur Apostolik Sukabumi. Bersamaan dengan berubahnya status Prefektur Apostolik Sukabumi menjadi Keuskupan dengan nama Keuskupan Bogor. Gereja Paroki Bogor kemudian dijadikan sebagai Gereja Katedral Keuskupan Bogor.

Awal sejarah berdirinya Gereja Katedral Bogor tidak bisa lepas dari peranan dua tokoh perintis umat kota Bogor, yaitu Mgr. AC. Claessens, Pr dan Pastor MYD Claessens, Pr.

Pada tahun 1881 Mgr. AC. Claessens membeli sebuah rumah dengan pekarangan yang cukup luas (sekarang meliputi kompleks Gereja, Pastoran, Seminari, Sekolah, dan Bruderan Budi Mulia). Semula tempat itu digunakan sebagai tempat peristirahatan dan Misa Kudus para tamu dari Jakarta. Namun, dengan dimilikinya rumah tersebut, juga menjadi awal umat Katolik memisahkan diri dari penggunaan Gereja Simultan/ekumene sebelumnya. Pada tahun itu pula pastor MYD. Claessen mulai menetap di Bogor.

Pada tahun 1886 MYD. Claessen memulai karya pastoralnya untuk mendirikan Panti Asuhan untuk anak-anak. Saat itu bangunan rumah Panti Asuhan tersebut baru bisa menampung 6 orang anak. Usaha pastoral itu kemudian di kembangkan hingga menjadi Yayasan Vincentius pada tahun 1887, sehingga pada tahun 1888 mendapat pengakuan dari Pemerintah Hindia-Belanda.

Pada tahun 1889 Pemerintah Hindia Belanda secara resmi mengakui dan menyatakan bahwa Bogor menjadi Stasi misi tetap Batavia. Tahun 1896 (setahun setelah Mgr. AC. Claessen meninggal), MYD. Claessens mulai membangun sebuah gedung Gereja yang megah di atas tanah yang didiaminya. Gereja itu yang hingga sekarang kita kenal dengan Gereja Katedral.

Pada tahun 1907 Pastor MYD. Claessens kembali ke Belanda setelah selama 30 tahun beliau berkarya di Bogor Jawa Barat, 27 tahun kemudian, tepatnya tahun 1934, beliau meninggal dalam usia 82 tahun. Semenjak kepergian Pastor Claessens, Stasi misi tetap Bogor ditangani oleh Pastor Antonius Petrus Fransiskus van Velsen, SJ. Tetapi pada tahun 1924 Pastor Antonius Van Velsen diangkat menjadi Vikaris Apostolik Batavia, sehingga Bogor yang saat itu sudah menjadi Paroki diserahkan kepada Pastor OFM Conventual.

Pada bulan November tahun 1957 Paroki Bogor dipisahkan dengan Vikariat Apostolik Batavia dan digabungkan dengan Prefektur Apostolik Sukabumi.

Pada tahun 1961 Prefektur Apostolik Sukabumi ditingkatkan statusnya menjadi Keuskupan dengan nama Keuskupan Bogor. Gereja Paroki Bogorlah yang dijadikan sebagai Gereja Katedral Keuskupan Bogor. Dengan demikian, Paroki Bogor namanya berubah menjadi Paroki Katedral Bogor.

Bogor Baru: August 19th Celebrating Independence Day Part 1

Sunday, August 19th

It's started from early morning, aerobic for the mothers and bazaar, with free drinks and cookies. a celebration of independence day and also re-opening jogging tracks and re-juvenate basket ball field.

Sponsored by telecommunication provider, baby foods and some i couldn't remember. as usual i woke up late, taking my morning ritual (black coffee, at least 4 cigarettes, reading news in WC) and when I went there, the game is about to start.

Ice cream seller is waiting outside the arena, children were anxious waiting for the game. and some were just playing




and the game begun, with the most popular, eating crackers!

Independence Day in Elementary School

Saturday Morning, August 18th.

Everything is normal again, morning paper arrived normally, daughters went to school and they said there would be games to celebrate independence day, and asked me to join.

I said OK.

We arrived and found that school sport ground were filled by pupils. Athena was watching the singers and surely she wanted to sing also. Meanwhile Yola just walking around with her friends

And some games then were playing, as usual, children had their own wants even though they were accompanied by their parents, some were just hiding in their class room, leaving their parents alone.

After finish with all funtimes for children, we went to Mall nearby, they have free Wifi on Foodcourt and Smoking area is provided. suddenly Athena and Yola wanted to be photographed with butterfly background.

Independence Day 2007

August 17, 2007. Indonesia is 62 years on that date.

I woke up late, 7 AM, and took a lazy time with Cigarettes, black coffee plus ginger, realized 17th of August was declared as public holiday, meaning no newspaper to accompany me inside the WC.

The original plan was to take a walk with my daughters and Vini, to our neigborhood, to find out the happiness on independence day on small alleys, cramped and packed settler, I heard there will be a ceremony and games to celebrate independence day.









Unfortunately our servant took one day off to visit her son, so we had to wait our servant back until 9 AM before start walked.

Yola changed the original plan, she wanted to ride bicycle, so we have to abandon our plan to go to small alley and just walk around. while Athena choose to walk.

Basically nothing happened in Bogor Baru, this is just like ordinary Friday only many flagswere hanging. The games and celebration will be on Sunday. The Flags were sponsored by Telecommunication provider, so it's colorful, red, white, yellow and green.

I then walk around to Tegal Peuteuy and found that everything will be ready after Friday Praying. Nothing to do, we went back Taman in Bogor Baru, took morning meal overthere and forgot that there was a live program on TV about independence ceremony in presidential palace.

Such a Nationalist I am!

The Flag of Our Mother (*)

Since early August-end of July the Flag sellers are around in Bogor. People usually buy for their house, or their Gapura, meanwhile I use my old flag as usual after it's washed again and again.

Several years ago, usually a standard size flag (2:3 ratio) for household and small flag to be stuck on car's windows were sold. but now several sizes of flags are available, very small flag, pin and oversized flags are available.

Inside Looking Out

Saturday morning, and my phone rang, SMS from my photographer friend, asking me to accompany them walking around in Bogor.

















So I ran to the street and jumping in to the backseat of Angkot, it's empty, so I had to wait several minutes and I lit a cigarette, but my eyes stuck to sticker, it's no smoking now inside public transportation, as a apologize, I promise the driver, when next passenger came in, i'll throw away my cigarette.















Pak Ogah still buzzing around calling for passenger, it's 100 rupiahs/head that driver had to give for pak Ogah service.













ah, at least a passenger came, then Angkot can move on

Jakarta Governor Election

Wednesday Morning, 8th of August.

Jakarta was on hype of general election for it's governor.

Offices were declared as holiday for one day, based on Internal affair ministry decree

I lived in Bogor and my office in Jakarta, what a wonderful life for taking a break in mid week. Unfortunately I forgot to set alarm off, so i had to wake up as usual 4.30 AM and could not sleep after that, moreover daughters were going to school and as usual when i got nothing to do, I grabbed my R3A and ask my wife to accompany me, to walk around to the neighborhood.

It's nice to see people working, students went to school while I didn't.

as we walk quite early in the morning, some of vendors were not open yet for business, babies were not bathed, and Angkot is waiting for passengers , and people taking leisure time in the morning

Suddenly My wife asked herself to be photographed, and I as good husband, took a good composition as i could remember from theory, but sometimes it's so hard to focus the subject with rangefinder

Madura Strait - Upper Deck Ferry

Then I move to upper deck, see what's up there.

all the safety apparatus were on upper deck, with TV, karaoke, bar (actually a counter selling soft drinks and crackers and instant noodle)

While some were praying, and some preferred with his family

all passengers are on their own minds, while sellers tried to convince them that what they sell are important to them.

A waiting game started

Madura Strait - Lower Deck Ferry

I have to visit Sampang ( http://wanderer-eyewitness.blogspot.com/2007/07/site-visit-to-sampang.html )

and to get there, i had to cross Madura Strait or some will say Surabaya Channel, by ferry.













Ferry divided by lower and upper deck, lower basically for cars, trucks, buses, bikes, motor bikes et cetera.











officially, lower deck had to be cleared from passengers, they had to go to upper deck.

However, as usual many were in lower deck, all the hawkers, shoecleaners, toysellers and others.















They preferred to be there for easy walking when the ferry arrived on site.














The sea is like a swimming pool on the strait, sea breeze was good and I walk around to takae some photographs .











For some unobvious reasons, i was very happy to be assigned on this site visit during weekend.

Lapindo Mud

I passed Porong on my site visit to Grati-Pasuruan. After exit on Toll Road Gate Porong, turn right, then all I can see all the high dam to cover the mud on the left.

I could only make one snapshot as I was overwhelmed by strange feeling of fear and absurd sensation of uprooted people which had to abandon their home and everything they have in a sudden.
